Tampa's Hidden Gem That Taco Lovers Need to Know About

Few things get millennials more excited than the thought of delicious tacos. Mexican restaurants throughout the Tampa area fill to capacity on Taco Tuesdays as people head out to satisfy their cravings for those delicious little tortilla confections. Over the past several years, we've seen more and more restaurants popping up that serve fancy, gourmet tacos. Popular ingredients have expanded from the traditional options such as carne asada or carnitas to alligator and duck. While I myself love tacos of all kinds, even the occasional gator taco, every once in awhile it's nice to take my Taco Tuesday experience back to more classic roots.

And if you're searching for delicious, traditional tacos, look no further than Tacos Mi Rancho. It can be a little difficult to find, and that's mostly because its a humble taco trailer off the northbound shoulder of Dale Mabry, just north of Lake Carroll Way. While some may be hesitant to pull over to the side of the road for some outdoor tacos, rest assured that you will not be disappointed. If you need further proof, just drive through that area during your next lunch break and observe the number of people lined up for tacos.

When you bite into these tacos, the first thing you'll notice is that there are no frills. There aren't any exotic ingredients and the plating isn't beautiful. What you're eating is just a good, wholesome, classic taco. Everything is prepared perfectly, the way it has been for hundreds of years. There is something to be said about taking a food staple like tacos back to their roots with a classic bottle of Coca-Cola to wash it all down. So if you're open to trying something a little off the beaten path, go check out Tacos Mi Rancho and I promise you won't be disappointed.
